In a comfortable "salon" setting, Dr. Davis will read new and published poems from her work about the migration experiences of Cape Verdean-Americans, rooted in her own life as the child of Cape Verdean-American immigrants. Her poems offer a deeply human, intimate, and poetic look at the "migration crisis" headlines that demonize immigrants and confront us daily.
